Commiserations to Rathmore who were defeated by Fermoy of Cork in the Junior Club semi final. The Kerry side are quite young & have 8 U16 players on their team. But they got off to a great start with a goal within 2 minutes from full forward Noreen Murphy.  The first half was an even affair with the young Rathmore team giving a great display of football against the more physically strong Fermoy side. Half time score Fermoy 2 -05 Rathmore 1-05 with the goal coming from county star Aislinn Desmond. The second half was pulsating as the action swung from one of the field to the other. Rathmore down 1 point with just 4 mins left but Fermoy got a lucky goal which turned out to be the defining factor. Rathmore played exciting fantastic football with an outstanding performance by the whole team but fell short in the end. Final score Fermoy 3 – 08 Rathmore 1 – 10.
