The County Féile competition took place on Saturday on 26th April in 2 venues.

In Fossa the Division 1 teams grouping took place with 8 teams split into 2 groups.  In Group A Corca Dhuibhne came out on top defeating Austin Stacks, Cromane & Rathmore. While in Group B Milltown/Listry came out on top defeating Abbeydorney, Castleisland Desmonds & Fossa.  This set up a wonderful final between the top 2. Milltown/Listry raced into an early lead but Corca Dhuibhne pulled them back before the Milltown/Listry raced ahead again to leave the half time score Corca Dhuibhne 3-1, Milltown 4-1.  In the second despite a long day of football, Corca Dhuibhne came out fighting & were ahead in the closing stages before a late Milltown/Listry fee levelled. End of normal time 5-05 apiece. The first half of extra time couldn’t separate the teams with just the minimum between the teams- Corca Dhuibhne 1-1, Milltown/Listry 1-2 . Corca Dhuibhne seemed to get their second wind and scored 1-2 from the whistle. The backs were well tested on both teams but soaked up the pressure. Niamh Ní Chonchúir  sealed the win with a goal and Céití Ní Lúing pointed before Milltown/Listry scored the final goal of a nail biting match. When the match referee blew the full time whistle there was relief on the West Kerry girl’s faces as they ran out winners: Corca Dhuibhne 8-9, Milltown 7-7 (AET)

In Ballymacelligott teams from Division 3 participated to select the second representative for Féile. Teams participating were Ballymacelligott, Spa, Kilcummin, Currow & Kerins O’Rahillys. Currow were crowned champions after defeating Spa in the final, Currow 5-05 Spa 2-07.

Well done to all the teams that participated in the Féile. Best of luck to both Corca Dhuibhne & Currow who will represent Kerry in June in Féile Peil na nOg which will take place in South Leinster.
