Randles Bros County Championships Weekend (PREVIEW)

This weekend will see all semi-finals of the Randles Bros Nissan sponsored Senior, Intermediate and Junior championships going ahead.

First this evening is the Randles Bros Intrm County Championship S/f:  Scartaglin host Corca Dhuibhne @ 8 w/ex time. Scartaglin rebuilding and having mixed results so far, have home advantage against the West Kerry club who also have mixed results to date. Both have influential Kerry seniors to call on and Scartaglin should advance to the final to meet Rathmore.

Tomorrow Saturday and (All games at 7pm unless stated and all games subject to extra time)
Randles Bros Senior County Championship s/f’s:
Southern Gaels host Castleisland Desmonds in Renard. This one is the tie of the round as Desmonds last year beat SG in the s/f and lost the Final to the combination team of Spa/Rathmore. Both side will call on their InterCounty players and both sides have 5 on the team. Desmonds will look to Aisling Leonard, Eilis Lynch, Jane Lynch, Andrea Murphy and Lorraine Scanlon for support as will Southern Gaels who have the experience of Linda Cronin, Caroline Kelly, Elaine O’Sullivan, Megan O’Connell and Anna Galvin at their disposal and home advantage, which will make for an exciting one and the home side should shade it, but it may take extra time.

In the other Senior s/f, Inbhear Sceine Gaels take on newcomers Beaufort and ISG also bowed out at s/f stage to the eventual winners last year. Home advantage will see them with a few points advantage, but Beaufort now have Bernie Breen, Patrice Dennehy, Sarah Houlihan to call on and it looks like a win for Beaufort in that semi final. Inbhear Sceine Gaels have developed into a fine new fresh team under the guidance of Colm Horgan and are not to be under estimated.

Jun A C/ship S/f’s.
Austin Stacks entertain Dr Crokes and the home side have Laura Rogers to call on and Crokes last years beaten finalists, have Amanda Brosnan and Rheanne O’Shea and this is a hard to predict this one, but the visitors Crokes should shade it, just.

In the remaining Jun A s/f, Kilcummin play John Mitchels in Rathmore, the venue change is due to GAA Co leagues clashing with some fixtures. Kilcummin may have too much experience for the up and coming Tralee side.

Junior B C/ship S/f’s.
Annascaul Castlegregory and Spa @ 6:30 in Aunascaul, Spa runners up last year, and with experience should advance to the Jun B Final and the other s/f Finuge St Senans and Causeway will go ahead next Tue evening, where Finuge St Senans are going well and should advance to meet Spa or Aunascaul/Castlegregory.
Junior “C” Championship S/f’s.
Fossa host Dingle at 7 and the home side are a very young and fast pace style team, Dingle have also ha young stylish team. On paper Dingle should shade it, but Fossa can surprise them. A draw after ex time.

Beale will host Kerins O’Rahillys @ 12 noon on Sunday and the North Kerry outfit should advance to the Jun C Final if the recent results, between the side are an indicator to go by.

So here’s to a weekend of Championship football for Kerry Ladies.
