Commiserations to our Minor team who were defeated by a very strong Waterford side on Saturday in Castletownroche on Sat April 11th. Playing against a very strong breeze in the first half, it was a struggle to get ball to the forwards. While Waterford who were very commanding in the middle third especially were giving plenty ball to their inside forwards. Kerry however did have a penalty which just went wide. Norma O’Connor in goals had a good game & pulled off some great saves. At half time the side were down considerably but in the second half with a feeling of nothing to lose the team played with a bit more flair & excitement. With Megan O’Connor on the 40 & Sarah Murphy in wing back simply outstanding they launched a great comeback. With goals coming from Megan O’Connor * 2, Norma O’Mahony, Sadbh Fitzgerald & Eilish Kavanagh. Final score Kerry 5-06 Waterford 7-13. With many of the team underage again next year it was a very spirited performance.
