Miltown/Listry crowned Rhyno Quality Feeds Div 4 Winners.

Milltown/Listry 7-12 Clounmacon/Moyvane 3-9

This ladies final, played in Ardfert on Friday 22nd May 2015 was a lot closer than the score-board suggests. It was not until the final quarter that Milltown/Listry sealed the victory.

Clounmacon/Moyvane got some early scores before Milltown/Listry settled into play. In a evenly contested first half, Lorna Hickey who had worked tirelessly throughout the game, at the end of a fine move crashed the ball to the back of the net. This goal however was quickly cancelled out by Clounmacon/Moyvane at the other end. Some more scores from Ailish Murphy and Tracey Sheehan settled the side before half time. Flawless free taking from Lorraine Kennedy was the difference between the sides at half time.

Clounmacon/Moyvane always looked dangerous going forward in the second half but the Milltown/Listry’s backs led by team captain Christine o’Carroll were giving nothing away. Two quick goals by Lorraine Kennedy half way through the second half to bring the corner forward to an impressive 3-7 put daylight between the sides.

Marion Donoghue came forward from centre back to score an impressive 1-2. The final goal came from one of the up and coming young stars Laura Prendergast.

Speedy recovery to Clounmacon/Moyvane player Erin Finnucane who suffered a serious injury during the game.
