Kerry v Dublin Club Clash

Desmonds-V-Na-Gael-Ladies-2

On Sunday the old Kerry v Dublin rivalry will be at is peak in Castleisland at 1pm. Local ladies side Castleisland Desmonds will face Kilmacud Crokes in the semi final of the Tesco HomeGrown Intermediate Club championship. Castleisland under the guidance of Billy Mangan have ran a good steady campaign & battled hard to get to this point. Kilmacud Crokes defeated a strong Parnell’s side in a very competitive Dublin championship. They then defeated St. Helen’s (Longford), Simonstown (Meath) and took care of Sarsfields (Kildare) in the final. They come very highly rated & are quite pacy up front.Much of the success of the Kilmacud team would be built on the very youthful Colaiste Iosagain All Ireland winning schools team where the like of Isolt Ni Riordain came from, so too  Eabha Routledge who was part of the Dublin senior training panel after the minor championship. Dublin midfielder Molly Lamb is also among their ranks – she was in midfield for Dublin in the All Ireland final defeat to Cork. While Michelle Davoren is also another senior inter county panellist, at only 18.   Castleisland however are an extremely balanced side with Cait Lynch & Aoife Lyons patrolling defence & Andrea Murphy, Lorraine Scanlon & Leanne Mangan getting crucial scores. Hoping a big crowd comes out & cheers on the local side as they drive for All Ireland glory.
