All Ireland Ladies A Shield S/F Preview

Kerry v Donegal, Saturday July 16th @ 4 pm in Tuam, Co Galway
David O’Connor’s side will attempt to bounce back from a narrow and heartbreaking Munster Final defeat to Cork in the All Ireland Minor ‘A’ Shield semi-final against Donegal in Tuam on Saturday evening next.

The Ulster runners up were beaten by a last minute goal by Tyrone in the Ulster Minor Final and they are sure to pose a serious challenge in the semi-final. Donegal won back to back Ulster Minor titles in 2009 and 2010 but this current Kerry Minor side have a number of really talented players. Leading the way is the brilliant midfielder Laura Rodgers, but others like Nicole O’Connor, Maura O’Connor, Megan Galvin, Marie Quirke, Claire O’Sullivan and Ciara Murphy are all fine players in their own right. Kerry are likely to be without Murphy for the semi-final, while there are doubts about Barbara Browne and Rheanne O’Shea also. Kerry, in spite of these injuries, are a very good side at this level and should be good enough to win this semi-final against a very good Donegal side.
