Kerry seek first All Ireland Finall Appearance in 17 years
Friday, 03 September 2010

Everything is set for Kerry Ladies Football's biggest game in 7 years as William O'Sullivan's Kerry seniors travel to Ballymahon, Longford for an All Ireland semi-final clash with inform Tyrone. Throw in is at 3.15 pm, Saturday, September 4th and the game will be shown live on TG4. The Kerry squad have done tremendously this season to turn a round their fortunes and are now only 60 minutes of football away from a first All Ireland final appearance in 17 years. We wish every member of the backroom team and panel every success in their endeavours. We hope that the girls will receive good support in Ballymahon and we would also like just like to put on record our appreciation of our Sponsors Kerry Group for their continued support of Kerry Ladies Football. In the read on section of this article there is full preview of Saturday's game.

Listowel are County Junior Champs

Listowel Emmets 2-12

Na Gaeil 1-4

Listowel Emmets were crowned County Junior A Champions after a wonderful second half performance at Frank Sheehy Park, Listowel on Tuesday evening. The home side played against the breeze in the first half but led after the first quarter by 0-3 to 0-2. A fortunate goal by Jess Mc Carthy put the Tralee girls in front for the first and only time in the match but Listowel powered back into the game thanks to the brilliance of Amanda O'Donnell in midfield and the artistry of Laura Lavery and Miriam O'Keefe up front. Listowel led at the interval by 0-6 to 1-2. Two early goals eased them into an 8 point lead which they added to in a tremendous second half display. Non playing Captain Breda Lane accepted the Junior Cup on behalf of her side and Listowel will now go on to face Moyle Rovers from Tipperary in the Munster Junior Club Championships on September 11th. We wish Listowel every success in that competition and we would also like to commiserate with Na Gaeil. They performed with great heart throughout and worked hard right to the end of the match. A full report on the game and a gallery of the final will appear on this web site shortly.
