About the Author:
I am currently the Under 10s and 8s coach for Finuge/St. Senans LFC and it’s fair to say that the girls that I coach have been a big inspiration for this book! I realised, nearly a year ago, that there are very few books about girls playing sports, and I don’t think there are any about a girl playing Gaelic football .So taking inspiration from my daughter and her teammates, and also from my grandmother who played camogie for Cork, I wrote “Izzy’s Magical Football Adventure”

Gaelic4Girls

A Chairde go léir,
We are delighted to launch our Gaelic4Girls 2020 programme. This year will be my first year involved and I am very much looking forward to it.
To promote the programme this year I will need your assistance with promotion to all clubs in your county. Please forward the link below to all clubs in your county highlighting the aims of the programme. I would also appreciate it if you could share the application link on all your social media platforms and on your website.

Programme Aims:
To increase the numbers of girls playing Ladies Gaelic football in a club.
To provide a fun, 10 week programme of Ladies Gaelic Football activities to attract girls aged 8-12 to the club.
To support a club in increasing their number of players, and integrate those new players into existing teams.
To develop athletic and social skills for girls in a safe and nurturing environment.
And also the benefits:
Participation levels will be increased.
Free training will be provided to the Coaches and Co-ordinator in your Club.
Resources will be provided to your Club to market and advertise the Programme.
There is the potential for your Club to become a more vibrant, active part of your local community through enhanced participation.

Gaelic4Girls

We really want this to be the “must have” programme in any club and increase playing numbers across all counties. Many Thanks in advance!

Gaelic4Girls 2020 Program

A Message from the LGFA:

We are delighted to announce that applications are now open for our 2020 Gaelic4Girls Programme.
2018 saw the LGFA celebrate the 10th anniversary of the scheme, with Armagh star Aimee Mackin acting as Gaelic4Girls ambassador and featuring in a series of hugely-popular promotional videos.
Aimee continued in this role for 2019, with even more clubs getting involved in this extremely successful player recruitment programme.
38 clubs representing 22 counties took part in the Gaelic4Girls programme in 2019, with over 1600 girls aged between 8-12 years involved – a huge number of players who have been exposed to Ladies Gaelic Football and a club setting for the first time.
The selected clubs will attend training evenings before the programme is rolled out.
We are now accepting applications for 2020, with a closing date of November 29 and full information is available at the following link:

https://ladiesgaelic.ie/lgfa-hub/games-development/gaelic4girls/
G4G is a 12 week programme incorporating coaching sessions with fun non-competitive blitzes aimed at increasing participation in Ladies Gaelic Football. The programme targets girls aged between 8-12 years who are not currently registered with a Ladies Gaelic Football club.
